Stone and bone tools and intricately patterned pottery have been discovered, indicating a high degree of artistic expression among the area's early occuwizard of slotspants. A number of burial sites that shed light on the beliefs and social structure of these ancient peoples are one particularly remarkable discovery. Skeletal remains and grave goods discovered together suggest that some people were higher up in their communities, perhaps acting as shamans or leaders.
