When you have a joker in your hand, for example, you can strategically use it to finish a run or set that would be impossible with the other cards. Jokers must bedragon tiger slots used sparingly, though. They can speed up meld completion, but if you hold onto them for too long, it could backfire if your opponent declares before you can use them effectively. A joker can unintentionally give an opponent a chance to finish their melds more quickly, so think about the consequences of doing so as well.
