Share on Twitter Share on Facebook 3 min readWhile the spotlight is firmly fixed on the 2025 World Series of Poker, which got underway Tuesday at Horseshoe and Paris, Las Vegas with the $1,000 Mystery Millions and $500 Industry Employees events, Sin City wasn’t the only hotspot for high-stakes drama.
Over in California, the WPT Global-sponsored Hustler Casino Livestream was lighting up screens with its $25/$50 ante game, featuring yet another ambitious jack-high hero call that left both the table and audience scratching their heads.
Was this Jack-Fourgate all over again?
The hand kicked off with Doc Hollywood (4♠4♦), Jeremy "JBoogs" Levin (K♦3♥), and Jack (J♦6♦) limping in for $50 from early position. Chris "Luda Chris" Chen (8♠7♦) bumped it up to $900 from middle position, with Victor (J♥10♠) and 3Coin (A♠4♣) tagging along from the next two seats. The button and blinds ditched their hands before Doc called. JBoogs folded, but Jack came in with an unconventional three-bet to $5,500. Only 3Coin got out of the way, building a pot of $18,450.
On the K♣9♣3♦flop, Doc’s small pair remained best. He checked, and Jack, who recently appeared in the Million Dollar Game, fired $10,000. Luda and Victor folded, but Doc stuck around.
The 10♥turn gave Jack a gutshot and overcards, but Doc shipped his $55,050 stack into the middle.
“What an incredible all-in,” said commentator DGAF. “I don't know if he's bluffing or protecting his fours. Either way, this is awesome. How does he know Jack is light?”

Jack tanked for several minutes before making the call with just jack-high, creating a $146,450 pot. The players agreed to run it once.
When the 5♠landed on the river, the hole cards had yet to be tabled. Doc quietly said, “You win,” prompting Jack to muck his hand, thinking he'd take in the pot without having to show down his cards.
“No, I win, never mind,” Doc corrected himself, turning over pocket fours.
Then the table froze with an awkward silence and plenty of confusion following.
"You said 'you win,'" Jack replied, realizing what had happened. Doc stood by his hand. “I mean, if you have it, I still have to hold my hand. You mucked.”
As Jack, whose cards still hadn't been shown, pushed his chips to the dealer. Doc added, “I didn’t fold my hand. I thought he had a pair, but he folded. I can still say something, I didn’t fold my hand.”
Jack-Four: Live-Stream Poker's Most Infamous and Insane Hand Ever
Doc apologized as Jack left the table with his remaining chips. Some in the live chat cried foul, accusing Doc of angling. DGAF quickly shut that down. “When the guy calls $52K on K-3-9-T, you've got to think your fours are no good... Not an angle whatsoever,” he said, calling it the “most understandable ‘you win’ declaration in poker history.”
As the next hand was preparing to be dealt, Doc noted that Jack's cards hadn’t gone fully into the muck and said he would’ve had no issue if they had been retrieved.
By the end of the session, Doc was the biggest winner, up $127,700, with JBoogs profiting $95,050. Francisco, Adi, and Dr. H all left with more than what they started with, while 3Coin, Victor, and Luda Chris ended up in the red. Jack was the game's biggest loser, finishing down $177,375.
