Players must first determine how many decks to use based on the number of players in order to set up the game. In most cases, two gamebetto four players can play with just one deck; larger groups may need more decks. After a certain number of cards—typically seven or ten—are dealt to each player, the remaining cards are arranged in a draw pile, with one card facing up to begin the discard pile.
