Discarding cards that your opponents might find useful while still holding a strong hand is a good bluffing strategy. Also, when it comes to bluffing, timing is everything. Your opponents might start to suspect your motives if you routinely discard high-value cards while keeping low-value ones. Alternate your discards to combat this, & sometimes reveal a high-value card that you don't need.
