Depending on the variation being played, every player starts the game with a certain number of cards. Keeping the top card face up, the rummy gameremaining cards form the discard pile, while the remaining cards form the draw pile. Players alternately draw a card from each pile and then toss one out of their hands. The round goes on until someone groups all of their cards into sets, runs, declares "Rummy," and wins.
