Sets comprise of three or four cards with the same rank, whereas runs are groups of three or more cards in the same suit that occur consecutively. With the top card turned face-up to begin the discard pile, the remaining cards form a face-down draw pile. Everyone draws a card once from each pile, then each player discards one card from their hand. When a player forms all of their cards into sets and runs, declaring "Rummy," they have won the round.
